Thorn of the Unseen Throne

Nareh Vanian was meant to be a forgotten ghost, the last scion of a dead dynasty. But a whispered prophecy marks her as the Qesari, a queen destined to shatter the tyrannical Ateshian Empire. This prophecy makes her a target for the Keepers of the Scale, a zealous faction who believe her rise will unleash a catastrophic power imbalance and plunge the world into chaos. Their chosen instrument of 'balance' is Karsan, a deadly assassin known as the Ghost of the Steppes, haunted by a past failure that binds him to the Keepers' will. When he finally corners Nareh, he finds not a monster, but a proud, vengeful woman who defies his every expectation. Unable to strike the final blow, Karsan makes an unthinkable choice: he becomes her protector, betraying his masters to guide her through a hostile world. As they flee from both empire and Keepers, their bitter rivalry ignites into a dangerous, forbidden bond. But the secrets of Nareh's power are entwined with the very tragedy that forged Karsan into a killer. Can they unravel the truth and claim their revenge before their entwined fates destroy them both?
