Now living as Senneh, she has completely rejected romance. Her sole, heartwarming mission is running a sanctuary for orphaned magical beasts. Told in close third person, we follow her cozy days bottle-feeding winged foxes alongside Roshari - a former rival court assassin turned fiercely loyal co-caretaker. But Khenzor’s terrifying, obsessive devotion to his 'lost' tutor is tearing the continent apart. The tension peaks when the System grants Senneh a 'Divine Healing Spring'. This grand reward is a trap: its magical signature alerts an imperial spy, who reports a plump, kind-hearted beast-keeper whose peculiar lullabies match the dead tutor perfectly.
