The Gatekeeper's Lonely Heart

Sir Kaelen, a grizzled knight whose valor once gleamed on the battlefield, now guards the sleepy town of Oakhaven's gate, his days a monotonous cycle of patrols and permit checks. For ten long years, he’s watched countless lovers pass through his archway, a quiet ache growing within his chest. His once-noble heart, now heavy with the weight of solitude, yearns for a companion to share the twilight of his life. But when a mysterious cart bearing an enchanted artifact attempts to pass, Kaelen finds himself drawn into a whimsical quest far grander than mere gatekeeping. Can this stoic warrior, whose only battles were once against monsters, now conquer his own loneliness and open his heart to a love that might just change the world?
