In the verdant valley of Aerthos, Ovelia Rae'dryn, a naive Plains elf, dreams of serene diplomacy between her kin, the sturdy dwarves, and the resourceful human villagers. Their harmonious existence is shattered by a cataclysmic meteorfall, forcing the survivors deep into the earth's embrace. As Ovelia grapples with the loss of her sunlit world, she discovers an innate connection to the earth's forgotten magic, capable of manipulating minerals and stone. But their subterranean sanctuary is short-lived; ancient, territorial horrors emerge from the abyss, driving them ever deeper into a labyrinthine darkness. Ovelia must overcome her innocence and command her burgeoning powers to unite the disparate factions, facing the ultimate question: can they forge a new society in the crushing depths, or will the darkness consume them all, ushering in the age of the Drow?
