Twelve-year-old Mary is drowning in the suffocating waters of middle school hierarchy. Invited to an exclusive sleepover with eighth-graders who are a grade above her, she is instantly paralyzed by her own inadequacy. They are physically developed, effortlessly mature, and speak a social language Mary doesn't understand. Desperate to hide her childlike insecurity, she activates her unique cheat: an analytical, hyper-observant mind that allows her to mimic their speech patterns, posture, and secrets in real-time. But as the night deepens and the girls' harmless games turn into cruel, manipulative social hazing, Mary’s desperate facade begins to crack. To survive the night with her dignity intact, she must play their psychological games better than they do, weaponizing their own secrets. Yet, the cost of fitting in might mean destroying the last remnants of her innocent self. Can Mary navigate this high-stakes social minefield, or will she lose her identity entirely?
