The Architect of Broken Pawns

Juhan was once hailed as the 'Unseen Blade', the most brilliant strategist of the Empire. But after a catastrophic defeat that wasn't his fault, he was stripped of his rank, his honor publicly shredded, and reassigned to the one place for rejects: the infamous Umbral Ward of the Oakhaven Academy. His new charge is 'The Unhallowed', a squad of five F-rank cadets so dysfunctional they're a danger to themselves. But for Juhan, this is a blessing. He has a secret: this is his second life. He remembers every monster, every dungeon, and the coming cataclysm known as the Unraveling. He will use these broken pawns, transforming their hidden potential into world-breaking power from the shadows. He will make them the heroes he never was. Yet as his 'failures' start achieving impossible victories, Juhan notices discrepancies - fractures in his perfect memory of the future. The Unraveling isn't just a disaster; it’s a sentient trial, and its divine Judge is watching. When the entity finally descends, it ignores the celebrated heroes and speaks a single name: his. What if winning wasn't the goal?
