Keeper of the Second Soul

I awoke in the Umbral Chancel, a place that exists only in myth, with a System only I can see: the Chronicle of Penance. Its sole command is to protect Aluin, the so-called 'Radiant Heir,' a naive boy destined to save the world from the encroaching Blight. My role is that of a Soul-Binder, a low-rank healer with a forbidden gift - the ability to reverse death. To the world, I am Aluin's shadow, a necessary evil. To Aluin and our small band, I am their grim guardian, the one who pays any price to ensure the prophecy is fulfilled. I perform my duty with cold precision, pushing Aluin through impossible trials, resurrecting him from fatal wounds, and shaping him into the hero everyone needs. But with every revival, the world grows darker, the monsters more twisted, and the Chronicle's rewards more like shackles. I thought I was the hero's indispensable support, but what if my 'healing' is the very thing corrupting the world I'm meant to save?
