Zorya Rostova is a survivor, not a savior. When her younger brother, Mischa, is struck by a creeping magical blight, the only rumored cure is the Sunpetal Elixir, said to be hidden within the fortress-manor of the reclusive Lord Kazimir Volkov. Known as the Beast of Szarvas, Volkov is a monster whispered to stalk the moon-drenched forests, a man cursed for his family's sins. Zorya, a calculating thief, plans the perfect heist but is caught by the lord himself - a man whose cold fury is matched only by his haunting, scarred visage. Trapped in his manor, she learns the truth: there is no elixir, and Kazimir is the beast. His curse can supposedly be broken by a kiss of true love, and he sees Zorya as a potential tool for his salvation. Forced into a tense alliance, they must outwit the fanatical Silver Wardens who hunt Kazimir nightly. But as Zorya's carefully constructed deceptions begin to crumble, can she truly learn to love the monster, or is she just another pawn in his desperate game?
