Heretic's Frequency

On Earth, Milosz Voron was a brilliant, burnt-out programmer. Now, he's a spirit bound by a desperate pact, inhabiting the body of a low-ranking acolyte in the Thearchy of Volhynia - the very institution that executed his new body's family for 'heresy'. His younger sister, Zofia, is all he has left, a political hostage whose fate is tied to his obedience. But Milosz has a different plan: revenge. The world's magic, granted through prayer to the Divine Resonator, is treated as unknowable, holy law. Milosz sees only a system waiting to be reverse-engineered. By applying the principles of physics to what the Church calls 'Miracles', he begins to deconstruct their power, starting with illusions he can manipulate like waveforms. His goal is to dismantle the Thearchy from within, expose its lies, and free his sister. But the Divine Resonator's 'blessings' grow stronger the more Milosz innovates, an unsettling reward for his blasphemy. What if the god he seeks to unmask isn't an enemy, but the system's architect, eager to see how far its newest user will push the code?
