Jona Diggory
By @M. E.
On a quiet Privet Drive evening, Dumbledore's plans for Harry Potter unravel. Petunia Dursley, confronted with the magical infant, incinerates the acceptance letter and discreetly abandons him three streets away. Fate intervenes as Marcela Rogers discovers the baby, her guests Amos and Celeste Diggory, along with their four-year-old son Cedric, present. Cedric, with childish certainty, declares the baby his new brother. The Diggorys, noticing embroidered broomsticks and snitches on his swaddling, assume he’s a wizarding orphan from a fallen Death Eater family and perform a blood adoption, erasing 'Harry Potter' from existence. Reborn as Jona Diggory, the scar vanished, and even the Diggorys perceive him as always their own. Now, in a world where Harry Potter is presumed dead and Neville Longbottom heralded as the Boy-Who-Lived, Jona carries a secret he doesn't even know he possesses. The magical world is oblivious to its true savior, and destiny, once averted, now seeks a new path.
