Whispers of Nythara: Book one - The Unearthed Threshold

Lin Mei-Ling, a gentle South African Chinese student, dismisses her sudden surge of enhanced strength, speed, and senses as mere stress after her 21st birthday. Her reality shatters when a strange, non-human pendant surfaces from a Cradle of Humanity cave. Though unsettling, Mei-Ling's logical mind attributes its oddities to an undiscovered ancient artifact. When this peculiar item is stolen and then inexplicably reappears in her bag, her attempt to return it triggers a cataclysmic shift. The world blurs, and Mei-Ling finds herself ripped from 21st-century Centurion, thrust into a world where the very air crackles with forgotten magic. Her 'gifts' are not fatigue-induced, but echoes of a truth far grander and more terrifying than she could ever imagine. Now, she must unravel the pendant's true purpose and navigate a perilous new reality, all while an unseen force hunts for what she unknowingly carries.
