The Sovereign's Smoldering Snare

I was supposed to die in chapter ten. Transmigrated as Tashiqa, a doomed noblewoman in the grimdark fantasy 'The Obsidian Crown', I seized the moment my ex-fiancé publicly humiliated and stripped me of my titles at a grand gala to pull off the ultimate vanishing act. My destination? The belly of the beast. To escape the terrifying Demon King Khaval, who was destined to slaughter my entire bloodline, I disguised myself as a soot-covered furnace stoker in his newly conquered dread citadel. It’s the perfect cover. I endure the blistering heat, deal with a delusional soot-demon sidekick, and dodge Khaval’s terrifying, blood-soaked tantrums whenever his continent-wide manhunt fails to locate me. All I need is to survive until the System grants me the ultimate 'Amulet of Erasure.' But during a frantic rebel attack in the lower levels, Khaval catches a glimpse of me aggressively cracking my knuckles in a cascading, rhythmic pattern - a habit I only do when I'm furious. The cat-and-mouse game instantly kicks into overdrive. When I finally claim my hard-earned System reward to erase my existence, why does it feel like a demonic marriage bond pulling me straight into his lap?
