The Sovereign's Gambit

Ren Zifeng shattered his meridians to save his fiancée, Song Liena. Her gratitude? Striking a ruthless deal in the outer courtyard to buy out their annulment with a few copper coins, leaving the shy but stubbornly proud youth crippled and struggling to protect his frail younger sister. But when Zifeng accidentally spills cheap rice wine onto the jade pendant left by his missing mother, a lazy, alcohol-obsessed god awakens. In exchange for the finest vintages, the deity repairs Zifeng's meridians and imparts the lost Revenant Sovereign's Step. Entering the Mount Wuyin Sect's grand tournament, Zifeng is mocked by every arrogant elite in attendance. That is, until he unleashes his new technique, radiating an ancient pressure that forces the arrogant Sect Leader himself to kneel. Alongside Lin Muyue, a fiercely independent saintess who sees past his shy demeanor, Zifeng uncovers a world-shattering twist: his entire life of suffering was meticulously orchestrated by his own past incarnation to bypass heavenly laws. With furious celestial wardens closing in, can Zifeng drink, slap, and conquer his way to the apex before his true identity is exposed?
