The Silent Warden of Ashdown

Dr. Kenjiro Ishida is a Remission Specialist, a state psychologist tasked with evaluating the mental fitness of individuals deemed societal threats. His new assignment is Kyouko Hino, the 'Witch of the Ashdown Ward,' a woman infamous for her ruthless acquisition of crumbling district properties and her chilling indifference to the families she displaces. The State believes her a sociopath, a danger to be contained. But as Kenjiro probes the unyielding fortress of her mind, he uncovers inconsistencies: glimpses of a profound sorrow, a fierce, hidden protectiveness, and a network of 'ill-gotten' wealth that vanishes without a trace. While Kenjiro wrestles with his professional ethics and the echoes of his own buried trauma, he realizes Kyouko isn't just hiding a tragic past; she's guarding a secret that could save the city's forgotten children, or cost them both everything. Can he unravel the truth before the State declares her incurable and silences her for good?
