The Shroudspire Vanguard

Vaylek was the Vanguard of the Wastes, a chaotic blademaster who conquered every abyss - except the one that swallowed his little sister, Salythe. His grim life ends when a mysterious courier delivers a strange, pulsing obsidian box containing Salythe's bloodied ribbon. The sheer, anomalous grief of the artifact shatters the timeline, pulling Vaylek back to his first year at the Shroudspire Collegium. To avoid alerting the apocalyptic cult that orchestrated the disaster, the proud, abrasive veteran registers as a Kinetic Harmonizer - a pathetic support class. It is a miserable disguise. Vaylek grits his teeth through the relentless bullying of Vondric, an arrogant upperclassman, and drags around Narlo, a cowardly, joke-cracking sidekick. But during a routine training exercise, a horrifying boss monster breaches the academy walls and corners a helpless child. Vaylek’s patience violently snaps. He drops his support buffs, draws a rusted training blade, and annihilates the beast in a single, earth-shattering strike. The academy is stunned, and Vaylek’s cover is blown. But as he begins to hunt for the cult's mastermind, he fails to realize the most chilling truth of all: what if the architect of the apocalypse is the bumbling fool laughing right beside him?
