When a child comes of age, they must undergo the First Snare, a perilous ritual where they attempt to resonate with an Echo, hoping to bind its essence and unlock their own potential. Those with innate sensitivity and iron wills can rise to become Soul-Harvesters, masters capable of weaving the Maelstrom's energies, shaping the Shards, and even glimpsing truths from before the great sundering. But the Maelstrom is as dangerous as it is bountiful; fail to ensnare an Echo, and you risk becoming one yourself, forever adrift in the resonant tide. This is the tale of Kael, a young outcast from a forgotten Shard, whose untamed resonance could unravel the Maelstrom's deepest secrets, or consume him entirely.
