The Last Echo of House Angin

Banyu lives and breathes the chaotic energy of the Rembang fish market, his days a blur of shouting merchants, slick floors, and the ever-present smell of the sea. His temper is as short as his wallet is empty, but his loyalty to his found family of market dwellers is absolute. That life is shattered when assassins who move like ghosts descend on his ordinary morning, their attacks awakening a terrifying power within him: the ability to see and touch the echoes of a person's soul. He is rescued by a serene elder, Semar, who reveals Banyu's true name and heritage. He is the last heir to House Angin, a legendary clan that commands the underworld through their mastery of 'Gema Jiwa', the art of soul echoes. Hidden from birth to test his spirit, Banyu is now thrust into a world of immense wealth, deadly politics, and a formidable fiancée who views him as an unworthy obstacle. As he grapples with his new power and status, he leans on Semar, his only connection to a past he never knew. But the more he learns, the more he suspects his family's 'test' was something far more sinister. Can Banyu master the echoes of his bloodline before his trusted mentor turns his own soul into a silent scream?
