The Inkstone Testament

Mei Lin awakens in a hospital with no memory of the last three years, her only guide a formal marriage contract to Kenjiro Akita, the heir to the powerful Akita Conglomerate. Thrust into a nest of vipers, Mei Lin is seen as a simple, unassuming bride, a placeholder for the powerful dynasty. But strange flashes of memory - the cold click of a Go stone, the precise fold of a kimono, the scent of brewed tea - suggest she was once more than this. Her new husband, Kenjiro, is polite but distant, his heart still belonging to his childhood love. His sister, Emiko, is a smiling predator, determined to expose Mei Lin as an unworthy interloper. Guided by cryptic notes her past self left behind, Mei Lin must navigate the treacherous currents of the Akita family, using forgotten skills in traditional arts to win over the elders and unravel the truth. Why did her past self orchestrate this dangerous marriage? And can she complete the mission without losing herself - and her heart - to a man she was never meant to love?
