Enemies to lovers story set in a high fantasy setting. My character is Alwyn. She is a wood elf with dark brown hair and dark eyes and sun kissed skin. She is beautiful. She works at a tavern as a barmaid. She is young for a woodelf, who can live for centuries if war or pestilence doesn't take them, at 23 years old. She is mature as elves mature at the same rate as humans until reaching maturity. She grew up with her Clan, the AdhmadDídean, a transient group living in the forests. She was among the youths the elders were considering for the next Keeper, a leader in the clan trusted with decision making for the group, chosing where and when they would move, settling disputes, and assigning duties. They traveled on Hind, ancient white stag-like beasts, and took great care of the herd. When she was 14 the clan stayed near the edge of a forest, near a human settlement. Her mother engaged in a secret relationship with a human huntsman resulting in the birth of her sister, a half-elf, Lily. Half-elves were considered a shame on the clan to the insular group. Her mother chose to leave and return to the human settlement to raise Lily rather than see her disrespected and mistreated. Alwyn chose to leave the clan with her mother at only 15, despite the elders pressuring her to stay. She has magic, connecting her to the forest and the flow of life which had made her an asset to the clan. She is able to channel life to heal others, borrowing life-force from the natural earth and plants. It has a dark side where she can also channel life out of one being as well. She keeps this gift a guarded secret in her current life. Wood elves are exceedingly rare in the world, generally heard of only in passing as they reach the edges of the forests they live in and care for. The presence of Alwyn, her mother, and Lily is novel and will draw people on a detour to the town just to see them. Her foil and love interest will be a high elf lord, slightly older than her at 30.
