The Echo Eater's Lullaby

Ivana 'Vana' Radmila has a song in her soul, but to her wolven kin, it's a discordant curse. After a brutal public humiliation where her own pack brands her a 'Dissonant' - a soulless aberration - she is cast out. Her only hope is Gloomspire, a rumored underground sanctuary for supernatural pariahs. But Gloomspire has its own rules, and survival means winning the brutal Umbral Gauntlet. Her chief opponent is Kresnik, the city's reigning champion - a hulking, scarred giant known as the Echo Eater, whose feral rages are as legendary as his silence. Vana is terrified of him, yet inexplicably drawn to the broken man beneath the beast. When her childhood lullaby accidentally pacifies one of his rampages, she realizes her 'curse' might be the key to his healing. But their growing bond enrages factions who rely on Kresnik’s ferocity to protect their city. As they are forced to fight, Vana uncovers fragmented memories suggesting this was all part of a plan she set in motion long ago. Can she trust a past she doesn't remember to save a future with a man she was born to tame?
