The Duchess of Dirt and Dynamite

I died face-down in a textbook. My reward? Waking up as Ivana, a scullery maid in the perpetually muddy Duchy of Volin, a place where 'crop rotation' is avant-garde sorcery and hygiene is a theoretical concept. My new life plan is simple: don't die of dysentery. But when my attempts to introduce basic fertilizer get me noticed by Prince Regent Ksaver, the famously shrewd 'Silent Prince,' my quiet life goes up in smoke. Now I'm his 'advisor,' a fancy title for the weird peasant girl who makes things explode. With my reluctant guidance, Volin is starting to prosper, but my successes are attracting dangerous attention from neighboring powers. Worse, I'm falling for a man I can never have, and my only true friend at court, the kind Captain Volkov, seems to be hiding something. Can I build a nation from nothing before my secrets - and my enemies - catch up with me?
