The Cipher of Salt and Sorrow

I was once Lyra Vask, the prodigy strategist of the Argent Covenant, feared for my mind. Now, I am a ghost, trauma-muted and haunted by the massacre that stole my voice and my family. My only path to vengeance is a desperate deal with Lord Voron Tyr, the disgraced 'Beast of Kallasgrad,' a crippled giant slowly dying from a magical poison in his clifftop fortress, Kaelus Rist. He needs my scent, which inexplicably soothes the corrosive magic devouring him. I need his protection and resources to dismantle the Concordium that betrayed us both. It's a simple, cold transaction: my presence for his power. But the longer I spend within these stone walls, watching this gentle, broken man, the more the fortress feels less like a prison and more like a sanctuary. And the more I suspect this isn't a chance encounter. Flickers of a forgotten past - a complex cipher, a whispered promise - suggest this entire alliance was a gambit I set in motion long ago. What master plan did my former self devise, and can I trust the scarred man who is its centerpiece?
