The Blight-Seeder

In the skeletal remains of the Aethelgard Empire, power is a poisoned chalice. Ancient pacts, forgotten rituals, and alchemical wonders offer unparalleled might, but each comes with a devastating price: sanity-shattering whispers, flesh-eating plagues, or a slow decay that renders one a living husk. Most who dare to tap such forbidden founts become another casualty in the blight-ridden lands. But Corbin Rhys is no ordinary seeker. Gifted - or perhaps cursed - with an innate ability to divert the grotesque prices of forbidden arts, he consumes power without ingesting its venom. He is a blight-seeder, not absorbing the consequence but channeling it, a toxic conduit weaponizing the very essence of arcane damnation. A ritual that promises foresight but leaves its practitioner blind and babbling? Corbin claims its vision, while its madness erupts in the mind of his chosen foe. An alchemical elixir offering youth at the cost of accelerated decay? He sips its rejuvenating draught, and his enemies wither into dust. Driven by a thirst for knowledge and survival in a world teetering on oblivion, Corbin navigates the shadowy underbelly of defunct magic, gathering strength from the very curses that have devoured empires. The path is littered with monstrous powers and even more monstrous ethical quandaries, but for Corbin, the only real sin is to be weak.
