The Bastard of Duskbane

Kyan Duskbane, the illegitimate son of a ruthless Duke, is left for dead in the freezing wastes of Aetherune after his family brutally shatters his mana channels. Sent on a deliberate suicide mission to perish quietly, Kyan instead stumbles into the subterranean grave of a dying dragon-god, Aurelius. Rather than death, Kyan receives the Dragon Heart System, sealing a volatile triple affinity of Shadow, Dark Thunder, and Death Flame within his chest. In a world where power flows through star-ranked channels, Kyan must master his agonizing, growth-gated system to survive. To claim vengeance for both himself and his draconic benefactor, he must hunt down the very bloodline that discarded him. But as the dark affinities slowly corrode his remaining humanity, Kyan realizes his ultimate enemy isn't just his father, but the ancient entities who engineered the fall of the dragons and now manipulate the empire from the shadows.
