Stardust and Monsoon Shadows

Kavari wakes up on the ceiling of a flooded, upside-down parlor. Rather than panicking at the supernatural impossibility, the hot-tempered aspiring actress angrily praises the set designers and kicks out a window to make her morning audition. She is completely unaware that her childhood friend, Laveni, possesses a parasitic Karma System designed to steal Kavari’s destiny. To harvest this luck, the System orchestrates eerie traps and sabotages to ensure Kavari fails her major screen tests and sinks into despair. But Kavari never despairs. When her scripts are shredded, she furiously improvises; when locked in haunted studio lots, she treats the wandering shadows as scene partners. Her relentless optimism and fierce loyalty to her crew continually starve the System of the misery it requires. Meanwhile, amidst the fog-drenched pavilions of the Chitra-Ghar studios, Kavari shares a quiet, bittersweet bond with a cursed cinematographer who films her from afar but refuses to voice his love. As the monsoon rains pour, a hidden countdown ticks away. Laveni’s System demands a harvest before the forty-day storms end, or it will consume its host instead. Will Kavari’s radiant spirit inadvertently destroy the friend trying to ruin her?
