Chapter 31 (Part 2): Ascent to the Sky
The house was still, held in a protective embrace by the silent guardian that now stood watch in the shadows. Adrian didn't linger. With a subtle gesture, he stepped out of his window and into the cool night air.
He moved away from the residential area, heading toward the secluded fields beyond the town's edge. Only when he was certain he was truly alone did he reach for the storage ring.
A faint ripple appeared in the air.
The Originless Heaven Ark emerged. It materialized silently, hovering a few feet above the ground. There were no lights, no mechanical sounds, and no magical aura radiating from it. It simply occupied the space, a masterwork of engineering that defied detection.
Adrian stepped onto the deck. The internal formations within the Ark activated, lifting the ship higher into the night sky until the lights of the town became tiny, flickering specks below.
He pushed the Ark higher, past the reach of the birds and the heavy blanket of the atmosphere, until he emerged above the clouds.
Here, the sky was different.
The stars were brilliant, unfiltered by the haze of the world below. A vast, silent sea of clouds stretched out to the horizon, illuminated by the pale moonlight. It was a sanctuary of solitude.
Adrian walked to the center of the deck, where the floor shifted to reveal a hidden compartment. The Origin Furnace was already glowing with a soft, steady heat. This was his workshop—the place where he could refine without limits.
He turned his attention to the Void Sovereign Skyblade.
It was a blade he had carried through countless battles, a weapon that had once carved through dimensions. Now, it looked weathered, its edge dulled by the passage of time and the limitations of his current environment.
"It is time," Adrian murmured.
He reached into his ring and withdrew a collection of stardust-infused ores and high-density mana crystals. He didn't need to consult any blueprints. The design was already etched into his mind, perfectly balanced for his current level of cultivation.
He placed the Skyblade into the heart of the Originless Genesis Flame.
The fire curled around the blade, not burning it, but peeling away the impurities of the past. The refined energy spread through the workshop as the blade absorbed the flame, glowing with a renewed, intense potential.
The work had begun.
Adrian watched the transformation with steady eyes. He knew that this upgrade was not just about restoring the blade’s former glory; it was about adapting it to the current world's laws. He increased the intensity of the flame, watching as the stardust-infused ores began to merge with the steel. The blade shivered under the heat, not from damage, but from the surge of new energy integrating into its core.
He was carving the future, one strike at a time.
