Pill of Damnation

I was once Yao Ling, the Divine Apothecary whose pills could defy the heavens. My ambition led me to the 'Ninefold Soul Sutra,' a technique promising apotheosis. It shattered my soul instead. Now, I am Xu Ren, the untalented, sickly son of a dying clan, and I have just woken up at my own funeral. My past life's knowledge is my only asset in this broken body. With it, I can turn trash herbs into divine elixirs and humble dust into priceless reagents, shocking the arrogant fools who mock my family's name. Every 'miracle' I perform, every enemy I effortlessly crush, is a calculated step towards reclaiming the Sutra and achieving the power I was denied. But a chilling realization dawns: the Sutra's power isn't a gift, but a lure. It grants immense strength only to bind its user to an ancient, malevolent will. Can I rewrite the scripture of my own damnation, or will my second life end as a puppet for a power far greater than any god?
