The center piece moment

By 10:00 PM, the party had shifted into high gear. The initial polite catch-ups had dissolved into loud laughter, clinking glasses, and couples dancing near the center rug where the overhead disco ball caught the ambient light. The room felt vibrant, packed with energy, and completely alive.
Adam handed off a fresh round of drinks to a group near the lounge before scanning the crowded floor. He spotted Paris standing near the edge of the dancing area, laughing softly at a story one of their friends was telling. Catching her eye across the room, he made his way through the crowd until he reached her side. Without saying a word, he took her hand and pulled her gently toward the middle of the floor.
Paris turned fully into his arms, resting her hands on his shoulders as he framed her waist. The rest of the room seemed to blur into a backdrop of color and sound.
"Having fun?" Adam asked, his eyes locked onto hers with undivided attention.
"More than I expected," Paris admitted softly, a wide smile breaking across her face.
Leaning upward, she pulled him down into a slow, lingering kiss right in the center of the party.
A chorus of sudden cheers and playful whistle-calls erupted from their friends surrounding them on the floor. Paris pulled back slightly, laughing against Adam’s chest as his arms tightened around her, keeping her close while the energy of the room hit its absolute peak around them.
