Neon Rain and Brazen Confessions

The rain was still slick on the windshield when my car plummeted over the bridge. I died as Commander Senira, carrying the crushing guilt of refusing to visit my silent childhood friend, Vashir, on his hospital deathbed. But when I opened my eyes, I wasn't dead. It was an ordinary Tuesday morning, I was pouring a cup of synth-caf, and staring into the mirror at the face of Liyana - the spoiled heiress engaged to Oshur, the very scumbag who orchestrated our downfalls. My morning immediately went wrong as I realized Oshur's coup was happening tonight. I have no time for subtle investigations. My new strategy? Crash the Grand Assembly, grab a microphone, and shamelessly declare my undying, obsessive love for Vashir in front of the entire city. My aggressive affection leaves the usually cold Vashir completely flustered, providing the perfect cover to stick by his side and systematically destroy Oshur's network. Though the atmosphere crackles with a slow-burn romantic tension, my true goal isn't courtship - it's preventing a city-wide massacre. But as my loyal best friend hides a deadly secret and Vashir starts recognizing my soul beneath this stolen face, will my brazen masquerade be enough to save him?
