The Shift in The Room

The movie filled the quiet bedroom with the gentle score of a sweeping love story, but as the plot deepened, Paris found her attention drifting away from the screen. She leaned into the steady warmth of Adam’s chest, feeling the rise and fall of his breath and the heat radiating through his thin shirt.
Adam’s hand gently slid down her side, his fingers trailing along the hem of her sweater. Every time the characters on screen shared a lingering look, the tension in the bedroom thickened.
Paris shifted, turning her face up toward Adam's jawline. Sensing her movement, Adam looked down, his gaze dropping to her lips.
"Are you even paying attention?" he asked quietly, his voice lower now, rich and deliberate.
"Not anymore," Paris whispered.
Adam reached over and muted the television, plunging the space into a heavy, charged quiet. He leaned down and pressed his mouth to hers, starting with a slow, deep kiss that quickly grew hotter. Paris let out a soft sigh, her hands sliding up his chest and tangling into his hair as he pulled her closer, shifting his body over hers.
