His Ephemeral Muse

To afford his younger sister's medical care, broke painter Kazimir Volkov moves into the derelict Vodyanov House, a place whispered to be cursed. There he meets its resident ghost, Irena, the last lady of the manor, sacrificed in a dark ritual and bound to the estate. While Kaz is the only person who has seen her in a decade, their connection is cruelly intangible. Together, they piece together the fragmented memories of her last days, believing that exposing her killers will finally let her spirit rest. But the closer they get to the truth and to each other, the more Kaz suspects that Irena's understanding of her own ghostly existence is tragically flawed. The ritual that killed her wasn't just to bind her; it was to turn her into a key. What happens when solving the mystery doesn't mean a peaceful goodbye, but unlocking a door to something far worse?
