Rhys, a brilliant but physically unassuming historian, meticulously documented every detail of the 'Sundered Marches' – a sprawling, hyper-realistic historical simulation of a forgotten frontier era. His life was spent in libraries and data-scrolls, a safe distance from the brutal reality he studied. Until the day the simulation's core protocols shattered, ripping him from his comfortable life and thrusting him into the body of a Wildlander – a hulking, 'primitive' warrior on the desolate edges of the Hegemony's interstellar empire. The simulated wounds now bleed, the digital cold now bites, and the lore he once studied is now a deadly, living history. To survive, Rhys must shed his intellectual past and embrace the terrifying persona of a savage, unthinking brute, his sharp mind a hidden weapon beneath a mask of primal fury. The line between user and victim has blurred, and as the simulation unravels, Rhys realizes he’s not the only one trapped in this increasingly real nightmare, where only the truly 'wild' stand a chance of reaching an exit that may not even exist.
