A Hymn for Shattered Glass

My name is Tavitri, and I was a Kavitari - a glass-singer, shaping resonant crystal with song. My ordinary morning of crafting sun-catchers ended the moment the debt collectors arrived. To save my family from ruin, I was sold to Lord Moros, the reclusive master of the Glacial Spire, a man whose grief is a destructive force that shatters any glass he touches. They call him a beast, a monster cloistered in a silent, ice-bound manor. Now I am his prisoner, tasked with the impossible: filling his soundless halls with my glass art, knowing he will only destroy it. But I see the agony behind his rage, a deep wound from a past he cannot speak of. I am defiant, and I refuse to let his sorrow break my spirit. Slowly, through simple acts of kindness and the resilience of my craft, I begin to see the man behind the monster. But as his icy heart begins to thaw, a shadow from his past looms, and I realize the Glacial Spire holds a more dangerous secret than its master's grief. Can I uncover the truth before the person I’ve come to trust shatters our fragile chance at healing forever?
