The long war
By @Danka Horvathova
Sergeant Elias Daniels, a haunted veteran of North Africa, finds himself thrust onto the unforgiving beaches of Normandy on D-Day, June 6, 1944. Burdened by the ghosts of his fallen comrades and a gnawing guilt that he should have died with them, he possesses an unnatural, almost preternatural, ability to anticipate enemy movements and battlefield shifts - a 'sixth sense' for survival that feels more like a curse. As the relentless Battle of Normandy grinds on, Daniels must lead his increasingly fractured squad through a hellscape of machine-gun fire, collapsing bunkers, and moral compromises. The weight of command clashes with his profound weariness, forcing him to confront not only the enemy but also the escalating cost of his own survival, all while the strategic objective of breaking the German lines hangs precariously in the balance.
