Seventeen-year-old Jazz navigates the unforgiving streets of late 1990s Tacoma, Washington. Life with her grandma, slinging dough and drugs, was tough but predictable. Her heart, naive yet fiercely loyal, belonged to a rising baller. But when he's sent to prison, Jazz is left utterly exposed. Her kindness becomes a target; her calculating mind, a desperate weapon. The world, once a blurred backdrop, sharpens into a gauntlet of fear. She endures brutal beatings, repeated robberies, and a shattering motel room invasion that rips away her innocence, leaving her scarred and alone. Forced to confront the true savagery of her environment, Jazz must forge a new path, or be consumed by the very streets she calls home.
