Ink and Instinct
By @john1208
All I wanted was a quiet corner in the Velisario Archives to take my afternoon naps. Instead, I’m cornered by Raxen Vor, the blood-soaked Alpha of the Kargath Pack - a syndicate of supernatural assassins feared by monsters and men alike. We strike a reluctant deal: I use my linguistic genius to decode a primordial werewolf relic for him, and in exchange, he doesn't kill me. We despise each other instantly. He’s a ruthless, feral beast; I’m a fragile human who considers walking up stairs a tragedy. But there’s a massive problem. Translating the text accidentally hardwired my brain to the Kargath pack-link. I can now hear the murderous thoughts of every wolf in the city. Worse, Raxen is desperately hunting a mythical 'Thought-Thief' stealing their secrets, never realizing his irritating human rival is the culprit. Throw in a den of jealous she-wolves who want me dead for standing too close to their Alpha, and my peaceful life is over. Every time I wander off to find a reading spot, I end up in danger, and Raxen goes absolutely berserk to save me. How long until he realizes the fragile mate he's protecting is the spy he swore to kill?
