Scarlet Wards and Bridal Cords
By @john1208
Lu Feixing falls asleep in his messy apartment and wakes up on a cold morgue slab, dressed in a traditional red groom's robe. His phone flickers with the *Midnight Absolution* app, welcoming him to an S-Rank instance: a ghost wedding inside the abandoned Ci'an General Hospital. The rules are absolute: deliver the dowry through the haunted surgical wing, ignore the weeping paper-effigy nurses, and never touch the bride's veil. Breaking a rule means being violently purged. But Feixing is a lazy genius and a con artist who despises hard work. Realizing the survival tasks are a tedious suicide mission, he opts for a massive shortcut - shamelessly wooing Rong Qinglin, a fierce 1920s militia commander who was betrayed and murdered in this very hospital on her wedding day. While veteran player Ding Shaobai frantically scrambles to survive the horrific wards, the narrative shifts to reveal Feixing leaning into the danger, offering teasing smiles and stolen kisses through the bloody veil. His flirtatious gamble works, turning the calamity boss into his lethal protector. But as they near the final ceremony, Feixing uncovers a terrifying truth: the app’s promised survival reward is actually a trap. Can he con the supernatural system itself before their souls are anchored forever?
