My Swarm is a Symphony
By @john1208
One moment, I'm Jaro, just a guy trying to make rent delivering packages on my beat-up scooter. The next, the sky cracks open, a System declares Earth is now a tutorial zone, and everyone gets a fancy new skill. The heroes get fireballs and super strength. I get [Lesser Appraisal], a skill so useless it's a cosmic joke. We're thrown into deadly 'Instances,' survival games against Gleam-Kin - monsters that shrug off swords and spells like they're raindrops. While everyone else is fighting for their lives, I'm stuck identifying the nutritional value of moss. But then I Appraise a tiny, terrified dust-mite creature, a 'Pitterling,' and see something no one else can: a sliver of 'Tameable Loyalty.' Alone, they're useless. But a hundred? A thousand? A million? Now, my swarm moves as one, an unstoppable tide of tiny bodies that can overwhelm anything. The powerful players who laughed at me now want my secret, but they don't understand. This isn't about power. It's about protecting Pekka, my little bird sidekick and the only one who believed in me from the start. But the System has rules, and I might be breaking the most important one without even realizing it. What happens when my symphony of loyalty is built on a complete misunderstanding of the music?
