The strict maths teacher
By @Sangeetha Iris
In the hallowed halls of Coimbatore's Vidya Vikas school, Maha is not merely a maths teacher; she is an unyielding force of nature, a legend among 7th, 8th, and 9th graders. Her ruthless discipline, enforced with a devastating wooden scale on palms and below knees, leaves students writhing in pain and pleading for a respite that rarely comes. Her meticulous attire, from the floral handkerchief sometimes peeking from her saree waistband to her stern gaze, only amplifies her formidable presence. Students live in a perpetual state of terror, their academic futures inextricably tied to enduring her rigorous, sometimes brutal, lessons. But what truly fuels Maha's unwavering strictness? Is it a profound dedication to her students' success, or a haunting shadow from her own past? This gripping narrative delves into the psychological battlefield of her classroom, where the relentless pursuit of perfection threatens to leave indelible marks on young minds, and the true cost of such extreme discipline remains to be tallied.
