Empire of the Iron Wolf
By @john1208
Saran was the ice-cold pawn who drove the Qara clan into bankruptcy, only to be rewarded with a one-way trip out of a penthouse window by her fiancé, Naranbaatar. Reborn on the day of her lavish engagement, she publicly detonates the ceremony, grabs her innocent younger brother Batu, and defects to the very man she once destroyed: Timur Qara, the fierce but stoic leader of the Iron Wolf tribe. Her new mission? Use her future knowledge to systematically crush his enemies and hand Timur an untouchable empire. Told in alternating third-person perspectives between Saran and Timur, the story takes a satirical jab at high society as Saran treats devastating sabotage like picking up the dry cleaning. But the real jolt is her aggressive, action-based affection toward Timur. She buys him territories and ruins his rivals, yet her immense guilt forms a bittersweet, unspoken love that prevents her from actually confessing her feelings. Timur, a hardened warrior out of place in the modern metropolis, is left constantly flustered by this terrifyingly devoted woman. With Naranbaatar’s sympathetic but twisted motives to save his own dying nomadic clan coming to light, can Saran protect her brother and make amends before the city burns?
