The Siege That Cannot End

By @Dino1208

For three centuries, Sergeant Kell Ardo has perished over nine hundred times, each death an agony etched into his memory - a unique curse in a war where neither side can truly die. The Saltmere Wall, a monument to futility, stretches across a barren salt plain, separating two armies trapped in an endless cycle of slaughter and resurrection. Combatants forget their past lives, their reasons for fighting, but Kell remembers every single one of his deaths and the faces of those he’s killed. He’s seen generations born and die (only to be reborn), witnessed love blossom and fade, all within the grim theatre of war. This morning, a cold dread washes over him: the main gate stands inexplicably open. With the stalemate shattered, Kell must confront the impossible truth behind their eternal conflict and the terrifying possibility that true death might finally arrive, not as an escape, but as an ultimate weapon.
