The Cartographer of Silent Fates
By @john1208
Ilari was once a celebrated cartographer of the Esoteric Archive, until a fatal miscalculation shattered his reputation and left him a pariah. Now, he scrapes by as a guide in the Veil-Breaches - lethal, shifting dungeons that defy known reality. Ilari has a secret: the 'Glimmering Insight,' an ability to see the stats, skills, and even the fated deaths of others as intricate strands of light. He uses this power to keep his clients alive, viewing them as pieces on a board, his calculations a shield against the past. His latest contract is with the 'Crimson Vanguard,' a guild of powerful but arrogant heroes led by the fiery and impulsive Sisko, who challenges his every detached command. They seek the legendary 'Axis Mundi' for glory, while Ilari seeks it for redemption. But the closer they get, the more his Insight reveals a horrifying pattern in their fates, one that connects to his own downfall and a sympathetic villain who isn't trying to destroy the world, but save it from a far greater truth. Can Ilari navigate the Vanguard through their destined doom, or will his attempts to control fate only hasten its arrival?
