Kaelen, a disgraced Runesmith haunted by the catastrophic failure of his last creation, exists in a world teetering on the brink of magical collapse. Ancient Aetherial Conduits, once the lifeblood of civilization, are failing, unleashing chaotic energies that twist reality. When a desperate plea from his estranged sister reveals her capture by a shadowy syndicate exploiting the failing conduits for their own monstrous ends, Kaelen is forced to confront his past. He possesses a forbidden skill: the ability to weave raw aether directly, a power that could either mend the world or shatter it completely. Now, armed with his volatile gift and a burning need for redemption, Kaelen must delve into the heart of a decaying empire, where every spell cast risks both his sanity and the fragile remnants of hope.
