Elara, a young woman deemed 'talentless' by the rigid societal structure of Aethelgard, lives in the shadow of her magically gifted twin sister. Her only solace is a peculiar heirloom: an antique locket that, unbeknownst to her, houses the soul of a banished ancient mage. When a devastating plague targets only the magically endowed, Elara's locket begins to hum, offering forbidden knowledge and terrifying power.
