Delusions of a Grandmaster
By @john1208
When Yan Wuchang, the undisputed Grandmaster of Venoms and Elixirs, survives a heavenly tribulation, he expects to ascend. Instead, he wakes up in a modern city park wearing singed robes, trying to refine a longevity pill from a burning trash can. Mocked on a viral livestream and promptly institutionalized at the Pinecrest Behavioral Center, his legendary medicinal pills are confiscated as illicit narcotics. Worse, his cheeky attempts to explain cultivation are met with sympathetic nods and higher dosages of antipsychotics from his exhausted psychiatrist, Dr. Miriam Hess.
But the modern world is secretly bleeding. Victor Dalgaard, a tech mogul dying of an incurable soul-curse, is discreetly admitted to Pinecrest's VIP wing, drawing terrifying shadow-fiends to the hospital. Wuchang must sneak out of his padded cell, brew antidotes from cafeteria jelly, and beat demons to a bloody pulp - all while Dr. Hess enthusiastically praises his new 'shadowboxing exercise' routine in her notes. With a hidden mastermind orchestrating the curses for a tragically noble cause, can Wuchang save a world that thinks he's insane?
