A Vow Woven in Rain
By @john1208
I fell asleep in my cramped basement apartment and woke up in a silk bridal gown inside a locked penthouse suite. A note from my glamorous, ruthless twin sister explained the impossible: she had drugged me, swapped our places, and fled her arranged marriage to the most feared CEO in Mirel. Now, to protect my sister and appease his dying grandmother, I must pretend to be the confident executive he contracted to marry. Living with Keston Varr is a terrifying ordeal of forced proximity. He is cold, exacting, and enforces a strict contract of emotional distance. Yet, the boundaries begin to blur during the heavy coastal storms, when the untouchable billionaire seeks out my touch, trembling and terrified of the thunder. I soothe his fears, and my hidden fluency in forgotten dialects ends up saving his international merger. But when my violently abusive family finally tracks me down to extort the 'new bride,' Keston's icy composure shatters. He breaks every rule in our contract, going absolutely feral to protect me. What will happen when he discovers I'm the wrong sister - or worse, what if he knew all along?
