The Wraith's Auspicious Dowry
By @john1208
It began as an ordinary morning. I was boiling rice in a quiet kitchen, wearing my stolen face, when my 'parents' burst in. Greedy for silver, they dragged me off to be sold as an auspicious bride-tribute to Lord Tae-Vahn - a comatose syndicate master whose demonic aura rotted the flesh of anyone who came near. It was supposed to be a death sentence. Instead, it was the perfect cover. A heavily guarded fortress was exactly where I needed to hide from the hunters who had slaughtered my true clan. Using my secret art, I absorbed and purified the lethal poison suffocating him. When the monster finally opened his eyes, he didn't question why a peasant girl possessed forbidden arts. Without a word of romance, he immediately transferred the entirety of his vast syndicate assets into my name and declared himself my violently loyal enforcer. Now, armed with boundless wealth and a living weapon, I can finally wage my war of revenge. But when the brilliant rival physician Gyo-Rin discovers my identity swap, will she expose me to my hunters, or join our bloody crusade?
