The Billionaire's Poisonous Pet Project
By @john1208
Barris Trelon is simply too nice. For twenty years, his high-society parents were so busy managing their public image that they legitimately forgot they had two sons, leaving his twin brother Korin to steal all the credit for Barris's miraculous botanical inventions. Barris didn’t mind; he just wanted his plants to be loved. But when the Trelons forget to bring Barris to his own grandmother's funeral, a notoriously ruthless billionaire intervenes. Magnar Veldross, the tyrant of Ostrum City, crashes the funeral to dramatically sweep Barris away, showering him with a private estate and extreme favoritism.
There’s just one catch: Magnar’s "reward" is a trap. His mansion is overrun by illegal, violently aggressive magical flora, and he needs Barris’s hidden plant-whispering talent to avoid being eaten in his sleep. Told in alternating perspectives, Barris cheerfully perceives the lethal garden as "misunderstood," while a highly stressed Magnar watches in horror. As Barris sparks a slow-burn romance with Jessa - Korin's former rival who uncovers the truth - the Trelon family goes completely bankrupt without Barris’s creations. When they come crawling back to beg for help, will they even survive Barris's fiercely protective, carnivorous new friends?
