The Unsportsmanlike Immortal
By @john1208
Wei Zhan is sprinting for his life through the slums of the Iron Cauldron City, clutching stolen medicine for his little sister, Xia. Just months ago, his own father drained Zhan’s innate meridian bloodline to empower a favored half-brother, leaving Zhan a crippled outcast. Cornered in a junkyard, Zhan’s blood awakens the Gluttonous Rust - a broken sword inhabited by a foul-mouthed, perpetually irritated ancient spirit who demands to be fed high-tier weapons. Desperate to cure Xia, Zhan enters the Vermilion Crane Pavilion's infamous Grand Martial Ascent. Armed with his sarcastic ghost-sword, Zhan’s hot temper leads to relentless, escalating clashes with arrogant young masters. But here is the catch: Zhan mistakenly believes the deadly tournament is a regulated, point-based sparring match. Trying to avoid penalty fouls, he uses a mere wooden branch to beat the absolute prime seed into a pulp while screaming about sportsmanship. As his accidental disrespect shatters the egos of the continent's most elite prodigies, he draws the conflicted eyes of the brilliant Su Meilin, a childhood friend bound by duty. How long can a supposedly crippled youth dominate a blood-soaked deathmatch before he realizes there are no rules?
