The God We Are Mining
By @Dino1208
Two centuries ago, a god plunged from the heavens, its colossal corpse becoming the foundation of Cairnhollow. Mirren Sokal, a pragmatic and foul-mouthed seam-reader, navigates this grim mining town, her loyalty fiercely devoted to her crew, her contempt reserved for the exploitative company that owns the divine remains. Mirren's unique ability allows her to feel the dormant life within the god's petrified tissue, a connection slowly rewriting her own flesh and spirit. But deep within the marrow-rich seams, something ancient and terrible stirs. The very workers who harvest its essence have begun to offer prayers to the silent, monstrous form they are dismembering. As the divine corruption seeps into the town and its people, Mirren must unearth the truth of the god's fall before Cairnhollow becomes less a settlement and more a consumed, living offering.
